In the University of Kentucky, the SMART (Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation) Program will pay for all educational expenses for B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. program, and then provide scholars unique opportunities to work as research scientists or engineers on cutting edge technology in world class Department of Defense facilities. Furthermore, this is a highly competitive, national program, open to U.S. citizens only. SThere are three different options for students who want to get a bachelor in Computer Science at Western Kentucky University. The options differ mostly with respect to the CS electives and with respect to the minor/other area to the studied: the Systems/Scientific Applications Option, the Any minor Option, or the Specialty Option. The Department of Computer Science offers graduate program leading to the Master of Science degree. Students in the Master's program may pursue either a thesis or non-thesis option.
